Effect of sintering temperature and calcium amount on compressive strength of brushite-metakaolin polymer materials

The effect of Ca2+ amount and sintering temperature on mechanical properties geopolymer-brushite (GPB) binders was investigated. Brushite raw abandoned kaolinite clay thermally transformed into metakaolin were used for GPB synthesis. complete phase structural analyses performed by X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). pore-filling as a consequence ions incorporation the hybrid geopolymer networks improved compressive strength. On other hand, chosen biscuit at 800 900oC caused transformation brushite calcium pyrophosphate, which negatively affected strength such materials. obtained results indicate that usage relatively high temperatures is not always necessary step producing geopolymer-based types cement with prominent properties.
